The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) is pleased to announce the availability of the new BSA Wilderness First Aid Awareness course! This new course meets the Wilderness First Aid Curriculum of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and ECSI is proud to be recognized by the BSA as an approved CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid training provider.

As many individuals are unable to access in-person Wilderness First Aid training during the COVID-19 pandemic, this new awareness-level online course will allow scouts, scout leaders, and staff to learn the cognitive information needed to respond to injuries or sudden illnesses when medical care is more than an hour away. Through the online course platform, individuals will be able to prepare for their upcoming camps in the comfort and safety of their own homes. Upon completion of the course, instructions will be provided to secure their course completion certificate.* Individuals will then be able to complete a physical skills check on-site as needed to ensure comprehension of the material.

***You MUST come to a physical one day course to recieve a FULL BSA approved Wilderness First Aid Certification!

You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one here. Please choose from the following optional items:

Don’t Be Fooled by Online-Only CPR, First Aid, BLS, ACLS, or PALS Certification Scams.

There are numerous websites and organizations that offer “instant” CPR or First Aid certifications without students performing hands-on skills with an authorized instructor or approved VAM. Currently, the AHA, ARC, and ASHI do not endorse such curriculums.

The American Heart Association (AHA), The American Red Cross (ARC), and The American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) strongly promote knowledge & proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.  Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA, ARC, ASHI or any other organization.  Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA, ASHI, ARC, and other course material, do not represent income to the AHA, ARC, ASHI, etc.
